JETSCAPE ACQUIRES ITS EIGHTH EMBRAER E-JET
Jetscape purchases and leases a new E190LR to AeroMéxico
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, December 11th, 2009 – Jetscape today took delivery of a new Embraer E190LR aircraft (MSN 19000248) from Embraer’s delivery center in São José dos Campos, Brazil and placed it on an eight-year operating lease to AeroMéxico, Mexico City, Mexico for use by its subsidiary, AeroMéxico Connect. This is the third E190LR aircraft leased to AeroMéxico from Jetscape.
Financing for the aircraft was provided by the Brazilian National Development Bank (BNDES) as part of a recently completed commitment by BNDES to provide Jetscape financing for up to 10 Embraer E-Jets. This is the first executed commitment from BNDES to provide financing for an aircraft lessor.
“This transaction marks several milestones for Jetscape. We are excited to add another Embraer E-Jet to our lease portfolio, our eighth in the last twelve months, as well as expand our relationship with Mexico’s largest airline, AeroMéxico (and its subsidiary AeroMéxico Connect),” said John Evans, Jetscape’s Chairman and CEO. “We are also delighted to welcome BNDES as a new Jetscape financier and business partner. We appreciate their confidence in us as lessor of Embraer E-Jets, especially in the midst of challenging times in the financial markets.”
